Single Units in IT Level 1 and Level 2

Single Units IT Level 1

We are also able to offer single software units to learners who are only looking to become qualified and knowledgeable in one software option.  At level 1 the single units are:

  • Using E-mail and the Internet - level 1

  • Word Processing Software - level 1

  • Spreadsheets Software - level 1

  • Database Software - level 1

  • Presentation Software - level 1

To achieve a single unit qualification a learner will have to complete all their learning and pass practice and live exams.

Anyone wishing to enrol onto a Single Unit qualification will have to attend centre for an initial interview where they will speak to a member of staff about the course they intend to become qualified in.  It will be during the initial interview that learners are registered as a member of Learndirect and given the log in details needed to access their learning through the Learndirect website.  Learners will also be registered with BCS – The Chartered Institute for IT.  We will discuss all policies and procedures, rules and regulations that affect all learners and the learning process.

All learning can be done remotely and will be monitored by us in centre.  All learners will be required to complete a minimum of 6 hours a week, every week, until they have completed all their learning and passed their exams.  All exams must be completed in centre.

Learners will study their chosen software option and will also complete a practice and live exam through the BCS-Enlight website.  At level 1 the practice exams are not timed but the learner will have to achieve 75% or more to progress onto the live exam.  The live exam has a 45 minute time limit and learners will have to achieve 75% or more to pass.
